Kenya's Sifuna vows to challenge Ruto in 2027 election
Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna reaffirmed his presidential ambitions, framing the opposition's goal as making William Ruto a one-term leader.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has reiterated his ambition to run for president in Kenya's August 2027 election, saying the opposition's goal is to make President William Ruto a one-term leader.
Sifuna said the Linda Mwananchi movement would campaign on restoring respect for the rule of law and constitutional governance as opposition figures position themselves ahead of the vote.
He also criticised Ruto's directive targeting foreign nationals operating small businesses, describing the move as reckless as political debate over jobs, migration and economic nationalism intensifies.
