FANO forces say they inflicted heavy losses on Ethiopian federal troops during more than 24 hours of fighting along the Dawunt front in the Amhara Region.
The group claims it captured more than 300 Kalashnikov rifles, four DShK heavy machine guns, nine PKM machine guns, seven sniper rifles and two RPG launchers during the clashes.
FANO described the seizure as one of its largest weapons hauls to date, while reports also indicated that government units were forced to pull back from parts of the area.
The Ethiopian military has not independently confirmed the reported losses or the scale of the weapons captured.
