Djibouti and France deepen strategic security ties

President Ismail Omar Guelleh held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace during his visit to Paris.
Implementation of the 2024 defence cooperation treaty was a central part of the discussions, alongside developments in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea.
The two leaders also addressed maritime security and freedom of navigation while reaffirming cooperation in education, research, training and economic development.
